Keenster,

Did you ever work for a regional carrier? If you did then I trust that your speaking from your own experience. At the regional carrier I worked for we prided ourselves on doing a good job. We strived for on-time, good service, well maintained and clean aircraft ect...

One thing I've noticed since arriving at Delta is the lack of understanding in regards to the regional product. I'll admit that some are awful. Many captains I fly with are mad when the regionals cancel a bunch of flights. Did you know that most of the time its the mainline carrier that cancels those flights? They do that to recover the slots for otherwise delayed mainline flights.

I don't know how many times I've heard pax complain about mainline service. Then as they get off the plane they praise us for a fine job and better experience. I believe a few of those letters helped clinch the job for me when I interviewed. Many of the great Delta pilots that we all think we are were the regional drivers of yesterday. They got here by being professionals and doing the best with the tools they were given.
