I think you are right on both counts. The sooner both merger committees and pilot groups realize that the fundamental building block for creating an integrated seniority list in this instance will be category/status ratios, the sooner you can get to reaching at least a conceptual agreement on the SLI (let the arbitrator fine tune it if you must). And the sooner you can do that, the sooner you can focus on your JCBA.
