In a word, yes, and they are even hinting at it. Publicly I might add. They even put a 18-36 month time frame on it. I would guess that if Boeing announces by years end we will be at the front of the line with a very large order over the next 10-15 years.
I know Boeing has contemplated using an elliptical fuselage that is wider than it is tall. They would put two aisles in with 2 x 2 x 2 seating. You have to use the fancy plastics to make this. The whole idea is to be able to turn a 757 size aircraft as fast as SWA turns a 737-700. Don't know if this will make it past the drawing board, but it is an interesting idea. That way we will all fly twin aisle aircraft. Hah!
