Is it an actual limitation or max demonstrated. All jets I've flown have had a max demonstrated which is not a limitation, thus exceeding it is not a limitation, but I dont know that airplane.
In the -88 at Delta, we have an actual crosswind limitation. In the 737, it was a max
demonstrated crosswind component. Just depends on the plane you're flying and how it was certified. Not sure what American has on their 767's or 777's.
