How is it that KLM, Lufthansa, and Air France exceed significantly our past payrates, but somehow are able to stay competitive.
It is okay with me if the company and mangement have to struggle daily with how they are going to make payroll for the pilots.

They are the flagship carriers of their countries with little internal competition, operate primarily medium to long haul profitable routes, little to no LCC competition on those routes, and retirements and healthcare are paid by the state. But as some said, they also are taxed very highly within their countries.
