Mesa's liquidated assets have almost no value. Most of the airplanes are leased and if they go CH7, then both the LCC and UA contracts would be cx'd. The only value Mesa has are the contracts, and to get those you would have to buy Mesa before liquidation. With the UA 700's under contract for close to 10 yrs, if you could get the LCC contract extended I think you could have a steal buying Mesa. After the next round of furloughs (from the Delta flying), they will have a very small pilot group (600 pilots?) and it would be an easy merger for someone like ASA.
