dashtrash300,
Be careful what you wish for because the consequences may not be exactly what you have in mind.
Here are some questions you may want to ask yourself:
What cost is your pilot group willing to accept in exchange for flying larger aircraft?
Are you willing to accept the inevitable concessions to your contract to fly these larger aircraft?
What size aircraft do you think is too big to fly? How about 100 seats, 200 perhaps, Airbus anyone?
Is your pilot group prepared to enable or prevent the whipsaw?
How strong is your contract scope language?
With MAG out of the way are you willing to inherit their ill-percieved but lowly status in the industry?
Have you picked a suitable scapegoat for your new set of troubles?
Here, I'll make it easier for you. Grab a handle:
Here are your fellow sawyers:
Piedmont Airlines
PSA Airlines
Air Wisconsin Airlines
Republic Airlines
Chautauqua Airlines
Trans States Airlines
Piedmont Airlines
Colgan Airlines
USAirways
Today you are the "bottom sawyer". If you saw through your contracts with enough enthusiasm, someday you may make "top sawyer".
Congratulations on the recall...
