Up through this point, I agree.

which gives the VSI a "down" indication.
This is where I disagree. To my eyes, when axel "C" rotates clockwise, the needle also rotates clockwise, which is in the "up" direction.

As currently drawn, the needle is about -2,500 ft per minute.

In a shallowing of the descent, or even a climb, I expect the needle to move closer to 0 FPM.
