We all know Republic has broken free of scope restrictions and set a course for growth independent of their major codeshare partners. SkyWest's managers have been increasingly feeling the pressure to do the same.
ASA & SkyWest pilots are getting briefings from C.T. (former Delta Manager with close ties) that pilots who accept assignment to the Vietnam / Meekong will be in a good position to accept future assignments in this non scope restricted Asian start up.
The PPRUNE crowd is all up in arms figuring ASA / SkyWest will compete with them in the contract flying business, bringing regional wages to what was a good deal flying A320's, 767's and 777's around Asia.
I just get nervous when Delta drops their plans for using mainline in Asia and the next day former Delta managers are giving crew room briefs on what a sweet opportunity is about to present itself in the far east.
I'm curious how many pilots would want to commute/live in Asia for sky west wages...
