So, basically, first year pay will go from $24 to $22.80. That is still right there with, or better than most other regionals. It looks like by the time I would be applying, you all will have received the 5% back, and possibly more.
I know a crystal ball is needed, but, IYHO, if you were in my situation, and you had to bet on which airline would be doing the most hiring, upgrades, etc., 1.5-2 years from now, which would you place your bet on?

In the TA there is a 900 pay scale. Our 60-69 seat jet rate has been expanded to be 60-76 seats. The Q400 will be paid at the 40-59 passenger jet rates.
I think you will find the recalls at about 30% or so. Mesbaba sent out over 70 recalls the last copuple of weeks to get 6 to bite. That is first round of course, but I know personally that many of the furloughs have moved on or out. If Mesaba gets new airplanes to replace the Avro's, there will be massive hiring probably by fall of 07. We have lost over 200 pilots already to the seniority list is getting ever shorter. Attrition is still very high with 5-15 leaving every month.
My personal opinion is that the ALPA TA will pass. The AFA probably and the AMFA probably not. So who knows where we will head if that is the case.
I think there is a future for Mesaba no matter what. You probably need to go with your gut on this one. In two years when you are ready to fly for either, they are both going to be much different places.
