The previous class were mostly assigned DTW.
As I'm sure you are aware, seniority (within a class) is decided by whether you are already a company employee and then by age.
Should you not get your preferred base, you currently have a good chance of getting it by the time you are done with OE or soon thereafter. However, I'm not sure if that will continue to be true now that more and more new hires are being assigned DTW.
Word is that there is a new hire FO class starting Nov 20 and classes are supposed to continue thereafter. Of course this could all change depending on what happens with Northwest.

Hey there- I dont want to step on any toes but the class that just got done with checkrides (mine) was ALL assigned DTW to start off. We all got the vacancy rewards for Jan that gives us all of our first choice bases. So itll suck for a month or so, but the fact remains that everyone still seems to get their first choice hub out of training. I was also the lowest seniority number and still got a base other than DTW. Their were (I believe) 7 guys in my class that wanted MSP, all got it. Hope it helps.
