You have an exclusive agreement with mainline (except Alter Eagle/TSA/CHQ from the TWA deal).Your "Slow and steady wins the race" contract has put you near the top of the regional heap for pay, and duty rigs are negotiated periodically. After alot of fighting, the flow-through actually worked. You had ALOT less pilots furloughed during the downturn, and brought them all back + hiring...
Ya, no regional's perfect, but some of those "nightmares"don't look so bad!!
I 100% agree and as an AE FO I would not want to trade places with any other regional carrier. We have had it very good here, and our contract is one of the better ones. As for the future, even if things get "bad" it will just be bringing us to the level of pain that most other regionals currently operate under. I really do feel for the OH guys... I hope justice is served someday!
