Every indications are that there are no more than 60 to 80 furlough bypass people returning. That leaves 225. Compass management wants to hold back 3 months for everyone which means DAL needs to fill spots for Aug, Sep, Oct, and Nov. Unless economy takes another dive, DAL will be hiring briskly in 2010 and possibly into 2011. I think a majority of Mesaba pilots below the seniority of 125 will bid yes to flowthru, except, people like you who, for one reason or another, has to stay at Mesaba.

It is irrelevant whether some pilot group dislikes flowthru or not. It's a DAL management decision to keep it or not. If they want to keep it around, it will stay no matter how many pilots complain against it or even if Mesaba management wants to terminate it. I see no valid business reason for DAL management to get rid of flowthru at this time, as long they are planning to hire. If the economy changes and if DAL stops hiring, then they may start to look at it again with a different outlook.

ALPA MEC Mark Nagel said there will be no negotiations to increase the number of flowthru per month. I don't know if that is due to Mesaba management or MSA ALPA or DAL management.
I honestly hope you are right.
