I'm pulling this out of my posterior but its probably a simple system that goes through the group looking for all those currently not working. Also, you may not be legal but maybe if you're willing to do it then they can figure out how to make it legal, i.e. drop the backside of the trip or something. They will rob from tomorrow to pay for today.
Delta has 3 phone numbers for me, fwiw, all 3 ring simutaneously during IA calls. Its crazy when that happens
