As a DAL South guy, I didn't move up one number in my seat, and I certainly don't expect to anytime soon. I crunched the seniority numbers right after the merger and percentage wise I stayed exactly the same within .02 percentile. So did all of my friends as well. I was actually quite surprised at how close I ended up to my original spot. With the Pan Am merger, it took me 2 years just to get my original DOH seniority number back. With Pan Am we integrated 752 pilots into the seniority list only to rapidly sell off their junky airplanes. Nice huh?

As I posted many months ago, and recalling from memory, only about 350 DAL guys retired early, not the 1500 the NWA's negotiating team indicated. To compensate, ALPA stapled something like 275 NWA's guys to the very top of the list, so this big NWA's pilot retirement windfall to the DAL south guys just doesn't exist.

News flash for this survey guy: EVERYONE'S quality of life has gone down. EVERYONE'S stress has gone up. EVERYONE'S paycheck has gone down. This guy apparently hasn't been paying attention to current events. The entire airline industry has been in the toilet for the past ten years. The merger didn't cause this, the economy, Leo Mullin, and the simultaneous dual bankruptcy did.
