NWA poolie, I wouldn't expect anyone to get in this year that isn't highly qualified with massive mil/121 pic time. The reason is that there are only going to be a few off the street hiring positions until the flow is exhausted. Of the 305 pilots being hired almost 150 of them are flow-throughs. This isn't even accounting for the number of returning furloughs.
When/if hiring continues into next year, that's when hiring will open up a bit more for other guys like you and me. I know of another poolie who was called, but he is as qualified as the other people who are getting called. It's another hurry up and wait.
exactly. I feel I meet the qualifications but have no "real" expectation of the big D calling me for the few classes they will run this year. DAL pilots will get their buddies on board that have been waiting since 08 for a call. The others will be flow throughs. Just give it some time. Once all the buddies and flow throughs are in the rest of us will have a chance. It has been a long drought but it will change and things will get moving again. Till then we just need to keep carrying on.
