I think DAL should renegotiate the flow through so that they have a representative on the hiring boards.
What happens if a pilot decides to leave Compass/Mesaba, but then "runs into" trouble during training? Can that pilot go back to Compass/Mesaba without giving up seniority?
The 50 seaters are toast. However, as stated by management, the 100 seater is the MD-90. They are so cheap and their efficiency is on par with other aircraft (if not better). The bonus is that they can carry more than 100 passengers if needed. This means, they don't have to spend 20-30 million on a new aircraft.
I seriously doubt any Mesaba flowthru will have any problem with the DAL training as Mesaba has one of the best training department in the regional world. But if they do not pass the training, they are toast because they are no longer Mesaba pilot. Only way they can come back is if they reapply and get hired as a newhire if they pass the interview.
