Look man, you have to learn to be more discerning when you hear stuff. You have indeed correctly stated the talking points at that time, but it is absolute BS. The FAA is always pleased to see the adoption of state of the art systems. Despite what you hear, the FAA is mostly very forward thinking. It was DAL that decided they didn't want to make a change because they wanted to train the fewest number of people. In the case of crew scheduling, many are gone and replaced with new people. New people that had to be trained. And most ironicly, trained in last century's technology.
Again - Nobody forced Delta to do this...nobody! Certainly not the FAA. It was Delta's choice. And I believe our current difficulties show what a poor choice that was.

Carl, I know we have had our differences in the past. However, I do respect and envy your ability to see the world in black and white. From what another guy on here stated, the merger had to do with keeping within a certain percentage of changes or risk having to pull everyone in for an indoc and sim sessions. Clearly we were out numbered and we were always going to go the least union route, that was at any cost.
