I wish I could sue US Airways for allowing me and other people to be exposed to 100+ degree temperatures for 2 hours.
You're right. No airplane that is excessively hot should be flown. It's a safety hazard. Two years ago an FO I know nearly had an infant die on the plane because of excessive heat. There's no reason to fly an aircraft that is unsafe.

If you do fly a leg in a hot airplane (maybe you just picked up the airplane and the last crew said it cooled down in the air but really didn't) and don't feel safe to fly the next leg because of the heat, you shouldn't fly at least for an hour or two. Rest in a cool area and drink lots of water. If you need to call in fatigued to make sure you're safe for your next flight then so be it. I almost had to do just that the other day.

As for idiots who call you a wuss or something, I'd quote the above story or refer to safety of flight. If you don't feel comfortable then don't fly the plane. If a Captain or FA is acting unprofessionally, call Pro Standards.
