Right now GJ pilots can't to do anything about having long term stability and a better contract. I'm sure they want to but at the end of the day, they are not in contract talks and Goejt has been Hulas's favorite company so there has really been no reason to end the status quo. So the ball is on our court to do something for the collective good of all TSH pilots.
How did Mesa integrate Freedom? How did Republic integrate all three of their certificates? We have an opportunity now during contract talks to end this whipsaw. There has to be open demands with management as well as open talk among pilots to unite. The addition of Compass could only help us in the unification of ALL pilots under TSH because at least two of us share the same union. The differences should be put asside and focus on the long term stability for TSH pilots.
Also the ALPA pilots of Compass have an interest in forming long term stability now that they are part of TSH, former Trans States managers are already on their way there. It's obvious that TS can afford the current Compass pilot contract but they will erode it to Trans States standards and demand concessions. If we don't do anything, not only will we not have learned anything from the last decade but we will have three separate, miserable, whipsaw stricken pilot groups eventually and all competing against each other. Make no mistake about it.
