Arent most regional aircraft owned by the mainline affiliate and just leased to the regional partner? It wouldnt matter what aircraft are being flown, but instead what rates and what kind of long term contract. That is basically what is being bought/sold, just a feed contract. 10yrs+ with a clause stating Eagle will provide at least 50% of AA regional feed ASMs could be attractive for a company like SKYW who could want to diversify their portfolio and have major feed contracts for all the big 3 airlines.
