This was an "Administrative" suspension. On airlineapps, the page specifically says "Criminal Driving History". On that page, it talks about DUI, DWI, etc. Then, under that, it asks if you have ever had your license suspended or revoked. I checked "no", because it was not a "criminal" suspension, and I don't want it to be misconstrued. I would rather explain this in person if they discover it, than have them never call me because my license was suspended for something silly. I am not trying to be deceittful in any way, just don't want to highlight myself in a negative light. It was also in a different state, which I left 8 years ago. Thoughts?
Put it on the app along with an explanation, as well as how the whole issue was resolved. There's a reason why they put that explanation box in there.
I know there is the urge not to highlight something negative from the past in order to get the interview with the idea to "'fess up" once you get there. BAD IDEA!!! Delta knows people make mistakes. They're more interested in your integrity than your driving record. Be prepared to explain the event, but don't exclude it from the application. If they have even the slightest hint that you're hiding something or are not forthcoming, you're toast. It's as simple as that. The saying at Delta is that the only way to get fired here is to lie or show up drunk.
FWIW, I had the unfortunate experience of bending airplane metal many years ago. Obviously, it wasn't one of my proudest moments. But I still put it on the application, got the interview, we discussed it and if you look at my avatar, you can guess how it turned out.
