I hope that level of discilpline (or lack thereof) can be cited in any similar IPA pilot mistakes in the future. We are good, but no one is perfect.
This is the disease that has plagued the IPA over the last 20 years. We have a fairly young pilot group. No one wants to rock the boat, else they may lose what they have.
This double breasted operation has to stop. Clearly violating the rules for personal gain has to stop. Look at the flight schedule. There is a manager on almost every MD and 74 flight out of ANC. Yet we are furloughing line pilots.
Unemployed today, so yeah. I am a little peeved. BTW. I dont think this one will "slide" either. A few people I know are already inquiring about losing their license with the FAA, while 3 UPS check airman clearly violate the FAR's for personal gain (early arrival) operating in areas not approved. And as far as blaming the IRO! YGFBSM. Every member on that flight did not know the rules regarding this?
