I understand your frustration but to blame our union president for contract language that allows this practice might be a bit misguided. The contract language that allows this practice was written more than 10 years before he came into office. If he stated that there would be no more MEF once the furlough started, I agree, that might have been a poor choice of words.
He said it more than once. I even spoke with him after a couple of the events and asked him to clarify. He reiterated that May 23 there would be an injunction order filed. That is exactly what he said.
I have done everything the Union has asked. Filed reports, MEF, Training issues......etc...etc. It is frustrating to see all this JA2, MEF and all the other "management" flying going on, while guys are on the street. I mean every airline seems to be hiring and expanding. We seem helpless while management here is making a land grab.
And yes, BT has toned down his rhetoric considerably. As a matter of fact I have not heard anything from the EB for some time. I guess there is a lot of that "legal" stuff going on.........
