Also this is very speculative but just how many of the 1400 UAL furloughed pilots would accept a recall? I know former UAL guys/gals at UPS, Captains at JetBlue, F9, Continental, Govt Contractors, Finance, etc etc. They have been out for nearly 10 years. Honestly, would they get maybe 500 back?
Supposedly took CAL 80 phone calls to get 15 guys back on this last bid, granted they get one refusal before they have to accept if I remember correctly.
The number I heard from manpower and planning at CAL is they "expect" it will take 25 calls to get 15 to come back. I seriously doubt it will take 80. There have been very few airlines hiring the past 2 years, so know where for them to go.
