Anecdotal story, two years ago, which is a different world I know, we ER new hire folks living in ATL based in JFK were GS'ing out of JFK from ATL and one of two things would happen: a) if it was the same day of the trip they offered to positive space you to JFK which was great, sometimes we arrived late and the plane was waiting for us, or b) if it was a next day trip they were not giving you a pos space, you were expected to get there on your own.

I honestly do not recall if I was putting in a 8 hour show or what. I remember having some parameters but not many. Sometimes they called with 2 GS's, you go to chose the one you wanted. I chose a Brussels over a LAX-Hawaii once simply because the Brussels was a 6-day trip and that was nicer on a GS than the 3-day Kona. I wish I had done Hawaii though just to check that box off.

Different world but we were doing it left and right in the summer and it was working very well.
