Correct. Just went through the same exercise a few days ago. Here's what the scheduler told me: Drop the trip in August (that may or may not happen based on reserve coverage). AFTER the trip is off your schedule, White Slip the July trip. However, it may be gone by then, given to a different bidder. Then you're just SOL.

It's a big roll of the dice playing open time across month-ends.
