I'm not an advocate of providing jumpseats to anyone showing up ((scabs, drunk, smelly (used to happen at FedEx), or bad attitudes), but to not allow a fellow professional pilot a ride, based on the fact that he is working for a company that you feel undercuts the industry, is in my eyes, rather shortsighted. I'm sure, most, if not all of these guys would prefer to be working for a major airline, but as yet it hasn't happened for them. Why not welcome them aboard, and try to give them an appreciation for continuing their fight to get hired by a major carrier.

As was said earlier in this post, most of us working for FedEx, over the years, have been treated very nicely by our people-carrying brethren. We all appreciate it and take great pleasure in having one of you guys on our jumpseat. It's always nice to be able to provide a lift for someone going home, or to work, or on vacation.
My friends at the "low fare" airlines have no desire to work for a major now that the pay has fallen to their level. It makes no sence finacially.
