Maybe the Captain and/or FO were doing IOE or were new to the aircraft and didn't need the distraction.
FWIW, a CA friend of mine was getting 'hassled' about the fDAL FO about single engine taxi. "Fine" he said, "you start #2 whenever you think it's a good time". 3 out of the next 4 flights they pulled over into the pad to give #2 3 minutes.
MYOFB, and let the crew working the flights do their job....just sayin'.

Lame. If this is the case, I really hope that we buy no more Airbusses in the future, because they either are a maintenance nightmare, or their air conditioning systems are worse than the MadDog (and I thought this was impossible) . I understand the culture that you came from, and to an extent I am sympathetic, but this
looks like purely a case of "stickin' it to the man", and frankly it is wearing a little thin. Quack. If you really want to play the safety card, then you shouldn't leave the chocks, because DAL has been doing this for years, and I can't swear to it, but I would bet there are pracitcally zero incidents of any kind related to this. If the airplane won't cool... APU inop... BY ALL MEANS run both motors, but for taxi in to 99% of the gates to run both all the way to the chocks? Really??? Safety? Oh, and as far as the MYOFB comment: It IS my business, and it is YOUR business too. Your pay increase out the tailpipe... but more importantly, MY payraise out the tailpipe, and you are damn skippy I am gonna say something about it.
