Right there you show that you are not a Delta caliber pilot..... Wings of lead have no place on the Delta uniform. Just because the AF needed to differentiate themselves back in.... what...1960.... when they were created does not make a tradition.
Actually it's 1947, but the wings go back to the Army Signal Corp design which, of course, predates WWI.
Oh, and yes, they are a part of a Delta uniform. I proudly wear a pair as a tie tac
