I think anyone who wants no max pick up & open time pick up on vacation is a selfish jerk.
It reminds me of those greedy individuals that will fly extra time with guys on the street. An airline that starts with C & ends with L comes to mind.

I have flown with guys who are pretty open about what they do (if you ask). I did a flight with a guy who came right out and admitted that he did favors for scheduling and he couldn't give a tinkers damn about the 900 guys on furlough.
And he wasn't old and crusty, and he didn't try to justify it with the "I have a pregnant girl-friend, a ex-wife and morgage on the 2nd house".
It takes all kinds. A LOT of these guys fly under the radar. The grunt all the right noises, pay their dues, and go right on doing what they do.
There's no changing their mind, because they will rationalize it every which way they want to make it fit with their world view.
