During the earnings call management said that one of the attractions of ExpressJet is that it isn't a "fixer-upper." Given ExpressJet's precarious financial state, SkyWest isn't worried about that. And even post-bankruptcy Mesa is still will be a definite "fixer-upper." My understanding is that SkyWest Inc. is only interested in acquiring assets and not another pilot group, at least for merging into SkyWest Airlines.
