Now, if you flew 35 hours in a MD88, would you then be paid 35 hours at MD90 rates and 35 hours at MD88 rates? If so, it would take away the incentive to fly. You'd make more the less you flew. I'm basing this on being based in ATL (once everyone is converted) where the bulk of the flying will still consist of MD88 with the occasional MD90 thrown in.
I think it's time all MD88 were brought up to MD90 pay, just as the 737-700 and -800 are same pay.
Your guarantee is based on 88 pay when on reserve and you get the 90 pay if you fly a 90. Your category is actually an 88 category and you are qualified to fly the 90 is the way payroll explained it to me.
