I had to explain to them that the 88 APU wouldn't keep up by itself either and we intended to use both APU and jetway air. It was like pulling teeth to get it done - but we did end up staying nice and cool

Once I showed them where the receptacle door was located, one of them looked at the receptacle and since it didn't look familiar to him, he said he didn't think the air hose from the jetway would connect. I assured him it would, and after another few minutes we finally had air on the plane.
