ALPA Press Release:
The EIA MEC would like to report the results of contract tentative agreement vote as the ballot closed today. The Evergreen crewmembers rejected the tentative collective bargaining agreement by a high percentage. Ninety-two percent of EIA crewmembers participated in the ratification process with 96 percent of voting members casting ballots against the tentative agreement. Here is a breakdown of the numbers in terms of votes casted. There were 168 crewmembers who voted of the 182 eligible voters. Of the 168 crewmembers who voted, 162 voted against the TA and six voted for the TA.
As you can see, the pilot group uniformly desires improvements to the current conditions. We have our 5% though, of course.

This vote also didn't allow any of our more recent hires (ex. Midwest, ATA, and Aloha guys, primarily) to vote because they are still on probation.

In terms of hiring, that's who we're hiring and who's competitive. It's great to see that many of the pilots who've suffered during this industry downturn the most, losing their jobs as their company imploded, are being welcomed with warm arms here.

Internal recommendations and a couple thousand hours of 737 or larger experience is competitive, but you'll never get hired if you don't put your stuff in. Rumor is we hired a pilot with nothing more than Dash-8 FO time, though that is certainly the exception to the norm.

We have 9 747-200's (ex Luftansa and JAL), and 1 747-400 (the 2 remaining LCF's are on their way out). Rumors of more 747-400's and management talk of more -400's every month. Like all airlines, don't believe it till you see it on the ramp and painted.

16-18 days away from home in a row, 11 months of the year (14 days of annual vacation = 1 calendar month off for vacation each year). 12+ hour duty days. Business class or better deadhead travel, hotels paid for in base. Pay lags ACMI industry average by about 20%. Plenty of opportunity to fly extra on your days off if you want it. That's the essence of Evergreen.

Good luck to all those interested in joining.
