MAG:

For a while, it depended on the day, night, price of sand in Alaska, alignment of the planets, and 3+ clarification letters (emails) of interpretation for an agreed-upon and signed QOL LOA to determine how flying was assigned to reserves and when you were on reserve or if you had to call 'tracking' at the "...completion of an assignment." So now that we've rid our lives of that disaster, it's back to the old school system, which has for the most part been working in the properly-staffed environment (more furloughs on the way of course), but I'm afraid it won't last after November.

-Calendar month bid periods
-Min 11 days OFF/month
-can bid for your preference of 4 different 12-hour shift periods, 0500-1700, 0800-2000, 1200-1200, 1900-0700... I think that's how it goes.
-can bid for days OFF
-can bid for Golden (inviolate) days
-daily credit goes towards your guarantee unless you break min (75 hours)
-90-minute call out
-Long call 12 or 24 awarded at Company discretion and a reduction in guarantee (haven't had it for a while)
-Airport ready reserve can be assigned as needed or bid on
-we can bid for CALL ME FIRST or LAST... not sure how effectively they actually honor it though

If I think of more reserve tidbits, I'll edit and add if it'll let me... overall, pretty decent reserve for a change. Give it time, it'll probably be back to the way it used to be with reassignments and junior available/assignments. I think I speak for the shrinking group when I say that MAG pilots have reached an all-time low in morale and are leaving at the first opportunity for a different if not greener pasture.
