What exactly is the cost of an airline hiring a dude who is a reservist? Maybe we should just hire all of the regional dudes trained at Gulfstream?? That would be better? Maybe we should just overturn USERRA for ALL jobs, not just the airlines, or do you have some axe to grind here?

Reason most mil dudes mil drop so much the first year is because they are taking a major paycut to go to that airline job. They make more in the guard/reserve generally. You would do the same thing.

The interesting thing I've noticed over the years is that most straight civilian dudes who cry about somebody else using ML leave is/has either : 1) no self-esteem as a pilot or 2) is as selfish as a scab or 3) was a younger sibling and never learned that not everybody's ice cream cone is going to always look the same or 4) is a complete uninformed idiot.

Which one are you?
