Needless to say he was not real happy about the situation. I don't call that a stupid rumor. I'm sure that there was good intent with this program, however I think that
possibly a few individuals administered it poorly. If you call that fanning the flames then so be it. I suppose that if you did not like something that was happening on your flight deck you would just accept it and move on because you would not want to make any waves and fan the flames.

Personally I have no problems with the idea of this program, just they way it was done by some.
So, what you're saying is that, when the guy went to the head, they took the liberty to go digging around in his personal property? THe only way to "discover" he had 30 days of notes was to pick up the book and read it, not just look at the opened page.
While this may just be a poorly implemented ride along program, I think there are more serious implications involved when fellow crew members feel that they have the right to pilfer another's bag. That to me sets up a bad situation. I have to fly a flight tomorrow with two fNWAs. Do I need to take all my stuff with me when I go on break? Do I have to assure them I'm no "spy," but some poor dumb schmuck of a reserve pilot who got tagged to fly with them?
All this rumormomgering does is prolong the divisiveness and distrust/discord that will dimminish our collective effectiveness to stand up to management come 2012. Makes me wonder what the ulterior motive is for those who continue to promote it.
For the record, I could care less if someone wants to peruse my flightbag. All I ask is that if you take the time to go through it, please finish my Jepp revisions while you're there. Thanks.
