Oh to be 30 again and so prescient. Glad to see your plan is all falling into place. Would you care to predict what your career earnings will be compared to airline pilots who actually stood for something besides themselves?
I'm sure money isn't why you are in this career field, right? Let me guess, as I try to think way back to my thirty-somethings.....You've got a great view from your office.....You love the "challenge" of flying.....You love the feeling that you get when you grease the landing.....Chicks dig you 'cuz you have that take charge, pilot mentality.....You could transfer to a different field at anytime and become successful, but why should you.....You'll be hired at a major by the time you're 30, oops, 32 and you'll make Captain at that major in five years and retire with millions.
Maybe you'll wake up in midlife, maybe not. When your ex-wife (or two)takes half and you can't afford to pay your kids college tuition and your idea of a great retirement is to sell your house and buy an RV to see the sights from the ground instead of from 30,000 feet, you'll begin to understand the value of pilots sticking together.
I don't have a dog in your hunt, I've got mine and I'm bored of fighting your fight anymore, especially since you don't seem to want to fight anyway. Good luck with your career and enjoy that great view, that's all you'll have to show for it.
