We hear this same song and dance everytime there is a union drive at skywest. Skywest has been around for 35 years and we havn't been the victim of what you speak and I doubt we will ever be. Why? Because there is always the threat of a union hanging over their heads. Not having a union in our case gives us more power than ever having one.
Most pilots at skywest agree with me, just talk to some and ask their opinion of a merger with xjt and sky. 9 out of 10 will tell you they are against it, and based on the last union drive that failed with only a 35% in favor, I doubt that any will change their minds soon.
Except that there is nothing to stop management from merging Skywest/ASA/XE. It's pretty simple for them to throw you all together, and Skywest pilots have no protection against it.
