Delta Air Lines Inc. is asking the city of Eagan to break up a 125-acre site occupied by the former Northwest Airlines headquarters, to facilitate a sale of the building to an undisclosed buyer.

The proposed subdivision will allow Delta to sell the building and the vacant land separately, said Jeff Minea, a broker at Cushman & Wakefield in Eden Prairie who is helping market the property.

Minea confirmed the office building is under contract; however, he wouldn’t say who the buyer is or give details about the timing, use or price.

The vacant building, at 2700 Lone Oak Parkway, is about 266,000 square feet. It’s been marketed for sale as part of a 72.2-acre portion of the total site, for $33 million.

The union for flight attendants at Delta Air Lines Inc. unit Northwest Airlines is suing Delta, saying the new managers are breaking their contract, the Associated Press reports Thursday.

The lawsuit filed in federal court in Washington, D.C., accuses Delta of violating rules about scheduling and other matters. For instance, the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA says its members are supposed to get more than two days off after a long international flight. It says Delta is giving them only 11 hours.

Atlanta-based Delta said the lawsuit has no merit.
