Default Delta Inteview Format

A good friend recently went through the Delta interview process and was hired on. He was part of a 10 person interview process: 5 Military pilots, 5 ASA folks, I believe 5 - 6 were hired and the rest were not.

Good news was he was hired, bad news was he might have to wait until next spring to go to training. Seems they might have overstaffed this go round.

Another bonus was he said they are looking at 600+ retirees, 65+ pilots leaving the airline every year, which means more open slots for new pilots.

Okay with that being said here is the run down on the interview process:

1) HR interview - Pretty standard run down: Tell me about a time stories, logbook reviews and why Delta etc.

2) Cognitive Test - Pretty non-standard testing. A lot of different mutl-tasking problems that require inputs on a computer screen while looking at different pattern sets. If you like playing brain games on the internet or your iphone should be pretty simple.

3) Aviation related test - Straight from the old gouge, a lot of different problems ranging from decent profiles to distance covered on VOR radials. Recommend going over the gouge to get a good feel.

That pretty much wraps it up. He did not know why he got a look and others did not. He has about 2400 TT in various military FW platforms but nothing too crazy for hours or other qualifications.

Questions or comments hit me and I will see what I can tell you.
