I'm guessing you live in base. Reserve would be much more palatable if I lived in base, but I can't (and would never live in Memphis). 1 SC day was a fly day, but all 18 days were away from home. The 40-50 hour months aren't bad for me either, even with commuting. Under the northwest rules, reserves still got the 5 hours of pay per duty period. That made it much more likely that you would be productive and/or break guarantee. This "B" scale for reserves is retarded....
1. At the end of each bid period, a reserve pilot will receive the greater of:
a. his accumulated credit earned in the bid period,
b. his reserve guarantee, or
c. 5:15 pay, no credit for each qualifying duty period.
