I'm extremely sorry about the UPS crash. At first I thought it was a friend of mine who passed. Fortunately he's was not involved. I was freaked out for awhile though cuz I knew his schedule took him to Dubai last week.......I still remember my first day flying freight. As I was filling out my newhire paperwork the chief pilots phone rang and his face turned white as a ghost. He excused me for a few minutes cuz one of our pilots flew into a mountain and was killed....all for $7.50 an hour.
Sorry everyone. I just read some more about the UPS accident. Now I know about the smoke in the cockpit. Scary stuff.
It is scary. Smoke and Fire on a jetliner is a worst case scenario. No main deck fire suppression system, and no cockpit door. These will be items that are heavily looked at in the investigation of UPS 6.
Prayers to the families of Doug and Matthew. They had young families.
