I have been with the company for about 2.5 years, including furlough, and I have never been backed to backed. I can tell you that you will spend at least 1 or 2 days of month traveling on your own time if you do not live near your base. It is a fact of life here. Pattern changes are the norm, not the exception. Save yourself a lot of grief and remain semper gumby, and don't let gossip get you down, etc.
