That's it. Nothing else to report as there has not been a negotiations update portion of our weekly MEC News for the past two weeks. Anyone who says they "know" what is going on at the table is smoking something I'll try the day I retire. Someone told me they flew with "a negotiating guy" who told him what was going on at at the table. I called BS on that because he was trying to stir the pot for sure.
This is some information I found in our MEC website dated August 28th. of 2010. I think is some good news but nothing is signed yet and anything can happen before that.

Welcome, United Pilots Negotiations Update:

August 28, 2010
The ALPA JNC continued its meetings with the Airline JNC this week. On Wednesday, a comprehensive proposal was passed regarding Scope for the new United Airlines. Scope language from Continental’s and United’s current contracts did not anticipate the multitude of existing business arrangements within the airline industry. This week’s proposal was the result of many weeks of activity within the JNC looking at every possible scenario with respect to the business.
Additionally this week, the JNC received the Company’s counterproposals on Moving and Crew Complement Sections. The JNC has passed at least once nearly all sections of the contract to the Company. To be completed are the JNC’s proposals on Compensation, Guam, Duration, Instructors, and Letters of Agreement.
The JNC remains cautiously optimistic with respect to the Company’s progress to date. In the last three weeks the JNC has passed several Scheduling Sections as well as Retirement and Insurance and now Scope; and while those sections are substantial, the JNC is awaiting the Company’s responses.
Finally, there always are rumors with respect to negotiations and an appetite for information. The UAL MEC is kept apprised of negotiations as they occur. They will continue to have the most complete, factual and current information and should be used as your source.
