Its in the west. Its "widebody". Its Boeing. Its gonna have some international.
Senior Northwest guys will be coming in plus a few DAL.
Open question is - how many?

My wild guess - 25 Captains + 30 FOs will be displaced.

The whale openings sure look sweet, but if you ask most SLC locals, they'd be happy driving to work, fly their narrow 757/767 till they retire.

Most of the guys that will get booted out of base will go to MSP since SEA and LAX are also getting more senior. The 320 category in MSP has enough room to soak up the displacements that will come in, so I think everyone else will see upward movement. It's good overall, just stinks to have almost your entire base open to bid by everyone within a year. Kinda feels like a bump and flush if you know what I mean.
I hear you guys but I'm willing to bet it turns out differently. You've seen many more AEs than me so I may be naive but here is why I disagree:

1)I'm fairly junior and I got into SLC on the last AE.

2)DALS pilots tend to over value DALS products and bases compared to how DALN pilots actually feel. That being said, your perception that its going to create a North wave is a little off. Yall said that about ATL and that never materialized, more the opposite.

3)Senior North pilots can already hold the ER or better(330/744) in SEA/MSP/DTW. Basically they would have to bid down to go to SLC. I really don't see it, especially with all the openings.

I may be way off base but we will see in a few weeks.
