I think we had a "cash for clunkers" effect on retirements with the prip last year. It probably "pulled the demand" for retirements to fall09/winter10 - just like cash for clunkers made demand artifically high for the duration of the program, then artificially low for a few months after. Wouldn't be surprised if the retirement numbers are pretty low through the end of the year.
That is a good way of explaining it.
Even with retirements as they are, we are growing and adding positions. Big blessing. That combined with the retirements that will soon kick in, pilots will be climbing the ladder at a rapid pace. I hope training is doing their pre-workout stretches and slamming down a protein shake. They are going to be crazy busy in the not too distant future.
