FtB;
I ask one question.

Have a regional carrier's bargaining agent (within ALPA) ever won a seat or aircraft size scope concession from their negotiations? I am not talking about Ford-Cookey and RJDC, that was a settlement outside of Section six and ALPA's bargaining agents and EV and OH. It also was not a seat win, but a seat at the table to be privy to mainline scope negotiations.

What I am is asking as a regional carrier ever been able to gain flying by their section six negotiations alone?

Do you think that having these regional carriers under ALPA where we could decided not to sign a CBA that did just that yield some sort of power? I do.
What RJET is trying to do with the Star Alliance is a bad deal. I suspect they will not win, because of all of the carriers within Star that are part of ALPA or IFALPA and the consequences of such an action to the member carriers of Star.

On the issue of Pratter I agree 100%. I read his campaign letter and looked back on his decisions and words over the last few years. IMHO he is probably not the pilot that needs to be at the controls going forward.

I want someone that gets unity, understands world economics and the absolute need of ALPA and IFALPA being part of the process. Not just for a feel good position, but a position that allows us to be part of the process and decision. We all want our careers back, but on one level the airlines must be profitable and on the other level we need to keep everyone honest. We cannot do that if we are fighting each other as smaller independent pilot associations for a common position.

So I say, fix ALPA from within because the results will be more along the lines of what many pilots deem as their expectations.
