We only differ in the sense I think monthly bids offer the opportunies for people to be forced to slide back seasonally, which is not something I would like. Maybe AE's at predictable intervals (i.e. quartely) would be better.

No matter what it's called, as long as it's very transparent, run fairly and at predictable (long enough) intervals, not subject to manipulation, and does not force people into either Block or Reserve, I think the AE system works well.
